The moon hung low in the early evening sky. The stars like tiny pin pricks of light in the vast velvet darkness. The only sounds in Fernway were the roaming zombies, and the uneven footsteps of the village's broken golem. Besides that, all of Fernway was sleeping.

Yugi turned for the hundredth time in his bed, desperate to get some sleep. He had been trying for the last two hours to find a sleeping position that would help him rest, but to no avail. With a groan, he turned over again and faced his bedside window.
He wanted to sleep.
He wanted to forget about the trial he would have to undergo tomorrow.
He wanted to forget Ushio and the golem and the iron shortage.
